The Market House was purchased by South Oxfordshire District Council in 1991 and renovated by Knowles and Son (Oxford). The completion of the works was celebrated at a ceremony on 13th July 1994, attended by the town mayor, Jane Morbey.

In 1994, Citizens Advice and the Tourist Information Office moved from the Town Hall to the Market House, and in February 1995 the building was officially opened by HRH Princess Anne, who is the patron of Citizens Advice, unveiling a plaque in reception.
