From 1880 to 1991, the Market House was occupied by a series of auctioneers. These dealt predominantly in livestock (at the adjacent market place) but some were also estate agents.

In 1904, Sir Francis Bertie, Lord of the Manor, paid £798 for the square next to Market House to be cobbled to make it easier to wash after markets.
In 1927 Burrows and Bradfield, who held the lease to run auctions, established a special market selling 15,000 eggs and 800 poultry per week.
The weekly Friday livestock auctions in North Street are now owned and run by Thame Farmers Auction Mart Ltd., a farmers cooperative
