The Striblehills (contd)

Another branch of the Striblehill family is thought to have been associated with the Greyhound and Swan pubs in Thame.

A John and Thomas Striblehill were noted pewterers in London in the late 1600’s, and both were granted Freedom of the City of London. Records confirm that they are related to the Thame family.

In the 1600s, pewter was used for domestic items (plates, dishes, spoons, small bowls) in most households. The trade was highly skilled.
