William was given an impressive obituary in the Oxford Journal:

“his keen judgement and matured experience was much sought after”

“Mr Castle’s business transactions may be said to have extended all over the country, and even on foreign soils his name and reputation was not unknown”

William and his wife Sarah, are buried in St Mary’s churchyard.
