The style of the sash windows dates to Georgian times, and the rear of the building was also substantially enlarged at that time, probably to provide staff accommodation. During the Victorian era some softwood sash windows were installed and the porch was enclosed.
In the early 1900s, Tudor and early Georgian details were boxed in or removed (including window shutters and a flagstone floor). In the late 1940s the front façade was covered in white painted cement render.
