In 2020, it was announced that Thame Co-op would be sold. In February 2025, a planning application was submitted to partially demolish the existing building, construct a new building to the rear and redevelop the site with commercial units and nine new apartments.

The application for a ‘high quality contemporary new building, which responds to its historic and important context’ has been
approved.
