Burrows and Bradfield

Burrows and Bradfield were a notable firm of auctioneers and estate agents for much of the 20th century, also holding property and furniture auctions at the Spread Eagle Hotel.

Thame UDC bought the market rights from 2nd Viscount Bertie of Thame in 1928, and Burrows and Bradfield jointly held the lease with E.P. Messenger to run the livestock auctions. They owned the exclusive lease for the cattle market from 1951, when it moved to its current site on North Street. The Tuesday Market relocated to Upper High Street at this time.
