Richard Striblehill died in 1607. He was one of the most prosperous traders in Thame at the time, a butcher and farmer.
The inventory of his belongings reflects a comfortable home where he was able to entertain in some style. It included:
3 dozen platters
12 fruit dishes
12 saucers
9 salt cellars
72 napkins
12 table cloths
There were painted hangings for the walls, a range of wooden furniture and 27 pairs of sheets!
After the 1700s, the family is not recorded as living in Thame.
