The Saracen’s Head was bought by Hall’s (Oxford) Brewery in 1913.
Hall’s was established in Oxford in 1795 when William Hall bought the Swan Brewery. In 1913, they also acquired 12 pubs around Thame, but only the Rising Sun, the Six Bells and the Three Horseshoes in Towersey are still in operation but with different brewers.

In 1926, Halls was taken over by Allsop’s who merged with Ind Coope in 1934. They continued to market their beer under the name Hall’s Oxford and West Brewery Company Limited. The brand used the ‘hare’ logo, which survives on four ceramic tiles at the Saracen’s Head.
