The Structure

The Market House is a two-storey red brick building with original oak timbers in the attic space. From the south wall of the cellar there is access to a stone-lined well nearly 1m in diameter.

The building has been modified many times over the past 300 years with an extension, two new staircases, the installation of several windows in the 19th century and the removal of three chimney stacks in the 1960s.
